About Us
The Porter Alliance brings together the expertise of over 100 plant scientists, molecular biologists, chemists, engineers, mathematicians, instrumentation developers, policy and economic experts from seven institutions. It is headed by four institutions:

Imperial College London, is consistently rated the best technical university in Europe and as one of the top three in the world; Rothamsted Research and the Institute for Grassland and Environmental Research are pioneers in miscanthus and willow bioenergy research and sustainable land management. The John Innes Centre is one of the world’s leading research institutes for plant and microbial molecular biology .
